A team led by Assistant Professor Zhang Qiang at ZJUI has reported a major advance in frontier scientific research empowered by large language models. The paper, “Scalable Homology Detection with ERAST,” was published online in Nature Biotechnology on April 1, 2026. The study was jointly completed by the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, ZJUI, and Tencent’s Life Sciences Laboratory, with Zhang Qiang, Chen Huajun, and Yao Jianhua serving as co-corresponding authors.
